The super talented make-up artist Amy Brandon, has an address book that is the envy of many a celebrity mag. Having graduated in fine art she went on to study make up at The London College of Fashion, her skill and sociability quickly got her noticed. Now Amy travels the world creating plump lips, contours and smokey eyes for pop princesses, rock bands and stars of the silver screen, including Lily James, Nina Nesbitt, Coldplay, Blur and Stacy Martin.
Amy joined us in the studio to create Nina’s fabulous looks for our photo shoot and we have persuaded her to share some of her tips and tricks with us…
Amy’s current top 5 W7 products all were used to create Nina Nesbitt's summer make up
Queen of Brows: “This product is one of the current 'must haves' in my kit. It will give your brows an instant boost of colour and help define shape..
Use by brushing upwards through the brows until you get to the peak, then follow through to the edge to tidy the ends and create a full but pretty eyebrow shape. Try using a shade slightly darker than your hair colour to frame and accentuate your eyes.”
Cheek and Lip Stains: “These are amazing perfect for multi-tasking! No need to use a sponge or brush, I like to use the palm of my hands to blend the colour gently on to the skin in a massaging movement to add a pop of colour to the cheeks. For lips I simply used the tips of my fingers.
Start with a really small amount and build up gradually, adding more if you need. I love using them to bring a natural looking flush to the skin. These are a great way to achieve a minimal make up look that lasts all day! Ideal for festivals, summer parties, any were you need long wearing makeup, my current favourite shade is 'a hint of Rio' perfect for the summer ahead!”
Glowcomotion: “I just love this product! A soft highlighting powder that isn't too gold and isn't too silvery, it's just right! Use to highlight the tops of your cheekbones, Cupid's bow and the inner corners of your eyes, perfect for strobing too.”
Tinted Kiss Lip Oil: “These smell amazing, give an instant hint of colour and moisturise your lips. For those of you who don't like sticky lip-gloss but want to use something - tinted kiss lip oil should do the job! Try lining your lips with twister lip liner in Pink first, then add English Rose for the perfect pout!”
Banana Dreams loose Powder: a yellow toned loose powder - great for setting concealer and brighten around eyes. Nina prefers a matte finish to her base, and this powder was perfect for the job. It's velvety texture allows a smooth application to the skin and finished her make up off beautifully X X
